Friday Favorites!

Time for a few of my new favorite things! And by new, some are new-ish and some are just new loves in my life.

Commodity Perfume in Rain

I went in to Sephora a few days ago for foundation and somehow wandered to the fragrance section. This is a typical pattern with me. I was caught off guard by the beauty of the Commodity Perfume bottles lined up and began fragrance testing. I absolutely fell in love with the scent Rain. I usually don't reach for "clean" scents, but this one is complex with notes of Italian Bergamot, Lemon Verbena, Jasmine, Freesia, Lotus Blossom, Water Musk, Sheer Woods, and Vetiver. It retails for $105 (3.4 fl oz) and $26 (travel size .33).

A New Day

Target is in the process of moving out their staple Merona and moving in their new clothing line A New Day. I was always a fan of Merona and its relatively inexpensive work staples, so I was a little bummed when I heard Target's plan. However, I browsed through the new displays and I felt like I was shopping in what my dream closet would be. Prices are in an affordable range and the line contains basics like slacks, tanks, and tees; outerwear like cardigans, blazers, and overcoats; and accessories. I can't wait to see what this line has in store for the future.

Rockabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of Justin Timberlake

This was released mid-August and will probably sound like a weird favorite for a childless 30-year-old to have, but I do have reasons. For one, I just really love the music of Justin Timberlake. This goes way back to NSYNC days and my love has never really left. Secondly, I play instrumental music in my classroom during "focus time" and this one has been getting loads of play! I love playing not only classical music for my kiddos but also instrumental music that features more current music. Coming in second place to this one for play time? Rockabye Baby's renditions of Hamilton and Beyonce. If you have kids and need something with a good beat to play (or you just love JT), I'd definitely recommend this one.

Oui by Yoplait

I'm not really a fan of overly sweet yogurts, so I typically skip over the Yoplait section on my way to the tangy Greek yogurt section of my supermarket. But in passing, I noticed Yoplait's new brand, Oui, which is partnered with their French branding. Oui is a French-style yogurt that is lightly sweetened with cane sugar- not high fructose corn syrup, which is always a plus! I find it creamy, thick, and only slightly sweet. A good compromise in yogurt options- and my new favorite!
